The four men arrested were Joshua Taylor Brown, 20, Jamal Cortez Collins, 20, Alexander Monique Ortiz, 21, and Kevin Bernard White Jr., 20. An undercover narcotics officer ordered a controlled substance from Kevin White. When the suspects arrived at the scene, deputies conducted a search of the vehicle, which belonged to Joshua Brown. The deputies located the controlled substance in the vehicle and they also found a small red baggie of marijuana in Brown's pocket.
All four men were charged with a second degree felony, which can carry a term of confinement from two to twenty years in prison. They can also be fined up to $10,000.00. Suspect Brown was also booked on an outstanding warrant from the Lewisville Police Department. Alexander Ortiz had previously been booked on a possession of marijuana charge in February 2011. Suspect Jamal Collins was a Forney High School Homecoming King nominee in 2009. Collins was indicted on a residential burglary charge in June of 2011.
The suspects were taken into custody without incident and were transported to the Kaufman County Law Enforcement Center in Kaufman. Joshua Brown's bond was set at $100,131.50, and each of the other three suspects were given $100,000.00 bond amounts.
