Fire Fighter Association President Russell Bannister said that he believes Jennifer will be a great fit on the City Council and has already shown a willingness to serve Forney. Mrs. Helms is a graduate of Leadership Kaufman County as well as a graduate of Leadership Forney. Both provide insight into how the local government entities operate. Forney Firefighter and Association Treasurer Darren Yarborough stated that with the knowledge Jennifer Helms acquired in her leadership classes, she understands the need for an additional manned fire station within the City of Forney. Mrs. Helms is committed to working to provide the citizens with outstanding public safety.
Early voting for the City Council run-off election begins Monday, June 4th and ends Friday, June 8th at the sub courthouse. Election Day is Tuesday, June 12th. Early voting hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. with extended hours of 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 7th.
