TERRELL, Texas — Farm-to-Market (FM) 429 near Terrell is closed due to a fertilizer truck fire and subsequent hazardous material cleanup, according to emergency officials.
FM 429 will be closed south of U.S. Highway 80 to County Road 309 while crews work to clean approximately five tons of ammonium nitrate.
The road is expected to be closed for an "extended period," read a statement from the Terrell Volunteer Fire Department.
"Please avoid the area and seek an alternate route," stated the department.
