FORNEY, Texas — The City of Forney and Forney Economic Development Corporation are set to welcome in the new RaceTrac location with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday morning as Terrell prepares for the grand opening of Raising Cane's next week.

The RaceTrac gas station and convenience store has opened its much-anticipated Forney location at the intersection of Farm-to-Market (FM) 548 and FM 1641. The ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled at RaceTrac on Friday, September 13, 2019, at 9 a.m.

Not far from the RaceTrac, in Terrell, Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers is preparing for its grand opening on Tuesday, September 17, 2019. Upon opening, the Terrell Raising Cane's location will be the 50th location in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex for the company.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be hosted by the Terrell Chamber of Commerce at 9 a.m. and Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders will be on site until 11 a.m.

20 lucky customers, ages 13 and up, will win Free Cane's for a Year. Entries will be accepted between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m. with the drawing between 9-10 a.m. Must be present to win. Additionally, the first 100 dine-in customers, ages 13 and older, to purchase a combo meal will receive a free limited-edition Cane's t-shirt and a voucher for a free Box Combo that may be redeemed during a subsequent visit.

“We couldn’t be more excited to bring our ONE LOVE to Terrell and to be the 50th Raising Cane’s in Dallas-Fort Worth,” stated General Manager Scott Koller. “We’ve assembled an incredible crew and the new restaurant is in a great location, right across from Buc-ee’s. We look forward to getting more involved and becoming an integral part of the community.”

Koller and his crew recently volunteered their time at the Terrell Share Center — highlighting Raising Cane's culture of taking an active involvement in local communities.

“We had a lot of fun volunteering with the Terrell Share Center for Senior Citizen’s Day,” Koller stated. “The Share Center does an incredible job at providing the opportunity for a brighter future for people throughout Kaufman County. We are honored to have had the opportunity to volunteer our time with such a great charitable organization.”
