TERRELL, Texas — Golden Chick, founded in Texas in 1967, opened its first Terrell location at 1700 South State Highway 34, near the Tanger Outlets Center, on Monday, the company announced.
The location, which officially opened its doors on October 16, 2017, joins 173 locations in Texas, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, and Pakistan.
Golden Chick is expected to bring 40 new full-time jobs. Hours of operation will be from 10:30 a.m. until 10 p.m., daily.
“My partners [Ash Mughal and Mohammad Amer] and I are proud to bring the people of Terrell a Golden Chick they can call their own,” stated franchisee Mujeeb Khalil. “We look forward to supporting our local community and providing our guests with the best Golden Chick experience.”
In the past, Golden Chick locations have sponsored local sports teams, contributed to academic scholarships and student fundraisers, and donated to other local charities. Last year, all DFW-area restaurants held a “Back the Blue” fundraiser in wake of an ambush-style attack on police officers in downtown Dallas. Their efforts raised over $30,600 for the Assist The Officer Foundation.
“[Golden Chick’s] classic menu items are prepared with special marinating mixes and batters to create the taste and crunch that originally made them famous,” according to a release. “Additionally, Golden Chick offers a variety of chef-inspired menu items including hand-rubbed Golden Roast Chicken, Gourmet Chicken Salad, and Almost World Famous Yeast Rolls.”
