HEATH, Texas — The soft opening for a new dining and entertainment venue in Heath is on track for December, city officials announced Tuesday.
The announcement also included news of grading at the site of the Tom Thumb development at Laurence Road, also known as Farm-to-Market (FM) 740 and FM 549.
The dining and entertainment venue, located at the northwest corner of FM 740 and FM 1140, is on track for a year-end soft opening, developers tells city officials.
“We are planning for a soft opening of the restaurant in December, and a grand opening party in March 2019,” stated Deric Salser of Salser Development Group, LLC. “All of the underground utility work and foundation are complete, and the project has gone vertical.”
"The dining and entertainment venue will be centered upon a full-service signature restaurant concept," according to the announcement. "There will be an outdoor gathering space to be used for live music, covered dining and special events. Features will include fire pits, outdoor games, and other family/community activity areas."
“We are very excited to welcome this amenity to our community,” stated Heath Economic Development Corporation (HEDC) and Heath Municipal Benefits Corporation (HMBC) Board President David Lane. “This is a unique and distinctive project that fits our vision for high quality commercial development.”
Tom Thumb is expected to open third-quarter 2019, according to Malouff Group, the developers representing Tom Thumb. Developers are also working to identify ideal tenants for the additional retail space within the overall Tom Thumb development.
