HEATH, Texas — The McCutcheon family, on Saturday, announced plans for McCutcheon Farms — a 122-acre mixed-use and residential development in the center of Heath.

The development is proposed on 122 acres east of the intersection of Farm-to-Market (FM) 549 and FM 550. The land has been in the McCutcheon family since 1957 when purchased for the purpose of cattle farming, according to Bob McCutcheon.

The McCutcheon family partnered with Realty Capital in early 2016 to begin designing the currently proposed development.

“Our family partnered with Realty Capital in early 2016,” he said. “Their vision for our land and experience creating livable communities aligns with our wish to create a mixed-use town center and walkable, livable community.”

“Our desire is to keep the rural look and feel that has defined Heath and ultimately serve our entire community.”

The town center proposes, among other things, boutique retail, locally-owned restaurants, and community event.

On the residential side, estate, manor, and villa-style homes are proposed with, among other things, residential amenities, neighborhood parks, nature preserves, community trails, lakes, and, in description, “luxury.”

“Our goal is not bring the big city to our small town but to provide all you could want right here in our backyard,” he said. “We chose the right partner as Realty Capital is developing with the current residents of Heath in mind.”

“We’re family focused and developing with that thought in mind,” stated McCutcheon.
