Patient Scheduling Representative

Job Summary:

Provides customer service to patients, physicians and other callers in a closely monitored clinical call center environment by, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance data and coordinating appropriate physician access.

Responsibilities:

Provides customer service to patients by coordinating services, directing callers to appropriate physicians for appointment (utilizing medical/clinical knowledge), and providing special instructions

Determines appointment type and urgency then schedules appointments

Communicates scheduling information, instructions and directions.

Captures and verifies referrals and cancellation reasons, insurance coverage and physician data

Acts as a liaison for outside referring physicians and facilities to resolve scheduling issue between patients and providers then review and confirm appointments

Maintains acceptable performance in quality, patient experience, customer satisfaction, teamwork, and medical terminology

Utilizes customer service skills to resolve patient's concerns and issues.

Other duties as assigned.

Education:

High school education. Excellent analytical skills, verbal and written communication skills, with strong customer service and human relations skills

Work Experience:

Three years of high touch customer service experience

Medical/Clinical knowledge – must be able to decipher the appropriate physician for new patients based on their clinical need

· One to Two years physician office scheduling

Physical Requirements:

Requires constant sitting and data entry with a headset

Schedule Availability Options:

M-F 8a-5p; M-F 9a-6p; M-F 10a-7p (this schedule has immediate need and more openings); M-F 7a-4p; M-TH 9a-8p.
