HEARTLAND, Texas — An alleged cartel member was arrested after federal agents and members of the Kaufman County Precinct 2 Constable’s Office raided his Heartland home early Tuesday morning, June 14, 2016.
At approximately 5 a.m., the Kaufman County Precinct 2 Constable’s Office and federal agents with the North Texas High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) Task Force conducted the raid at the residence in the Heartland community while executing a federal arrest warrant for Marland Bolton, according to Kaufman County Precinct 2 Constable Jason Johnson.
Bolton is allegedly involved in money laundering and drug smuggling for the Sinaloa and Caballero cartels in between Tijuana, Mexico, and New York, Atlanta, Orlando, and Chicago.
Johnson says Bolton is being transported to federal court in Sherman, Texas, for immediate arraignment in the case.
Additional arrests are expected in the case.
