FORNEY, Texas — Students from North Forney High School recently competed in the Dallas Dreamhack Esports Competition on May 31 and captured second place. The tournament, held at the Kay Bailey Hutcheson Convention Center in Dallas, Texas marks the first time Dreamhack has ever hosted a tournament exclusively for high school students.

Dreamhack events are held all over the world and attract more than 50,000 visitors.

The competition included eight North Texas high schools. Each school’s team consisted of five students that competed for a grand prize of $1,000 in scholarships as well as a number of other industry prizes.

North Forney High School’s team, organized and led by alumni Josh Gridley and Peyton O'Neill competed extremely well reaching the finals in the tournament and eventually capturing second place.

The North Forney High School Team included Captain Jacob Barba, Landon Brunning, Kabindra Pradhan, Marcos Rivera, Hunter Thompson and Robby Jarrett.
