KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — The Homeless & Housing Insecurity Fall Fair 2020 will offer free meals and backpacks over two events, on September 11 and 19, for those facing uncertain housing situations.
The Friday, September 11, 2020, fair will be held at the Serenity Corner at 212 South Rockwall Avenue in Terrell, Texas, with lunch being served from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. and dinner served between 5 p.m. until 7 p.m.
The Saturday, September 19, 2020, fair will be held at The Center at 400 South Terrell Highway, also known as State Highway 34, with lunch being served from 10:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m.
The event aims to assist those with uncertain housing situations, those struggling to pay their rent each month, unaware of where they will sleep, or those who are one unexpected bill away from losing their home.
Meals and backpacks are available while supplies last. Walk-up and drive-thru options will be available. Additional information will be provided on other community organizations to connect those struggling with helpful resources.
Those attending are asked to wear face masks or one will be provided upon arrival. Social distancing protocols will be utilized. Those with fevers or who feel ill are asked to stay home.
The events are hosted by Serenity Corner, The Center, and the Kaufman County Homeless Coalition.
