Nearly 4 Inches Of Rain In Kaufman County In 3 Hours - More Expected

InForney.com spoke with Kaufman County Emergency Management Coordinator Steve Howie for an update. Howie informed us that this weather system is projected to persist for at least two more hours.

"Since this system started at approximately 1 p.m., we've had 3.9 inches of rain, between one and two inches per hour. It will continue to train across Kaufman County for at least the next two hours," said Howie. "We have flooding in the Scurry and Kaufman Area, with vehicle water rescues occurring in Kaufman off South Washington and US 175."

Howie reiterated safety advice to drivers, urging them not to risk driving across flooded roadways and to immediately turn around.

"Please do not attempt to drive down flooded roadways. Turn around, don't drown."
