KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — A Tornado Watch has been issued for portions of North and Central Texas until 11 p.m. on Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth, Texas.

Although Kaufman County is not among the counties initially listed in the Tornado Watch, Kaufman County is under a Flash Flood Watch from 10 p.m. tonight into Thursday morning. Stay weather alert to changes or updates in the watch area.

This afternoon, thunderstorm chances will increase, though primary coverage of the storms remains uncertain due to a cap in place, according to the NWS. Any storms that do develop will have a risk of large hail and damaging winds and, some of the discrete cells during the afternoon and into the mid-evening could become tornadic.

A severe weather threat continues Wednesday through Monday.
