CRANDALL, Texas — The North Texas Municipal Water District (NTMWD), the city of Crandall and the Gastonia-Scurry SUD (Special Utility District) are urging water users of Crandall and Gastonia-Scurry SUD to limit the use of water following a pipeline break. Currently, there is no impact to water quality.
The pipeline failure occurred this morning west of the intersection of Pinson Avenue and West Pacific Street in Forney, Texas. The water supply to city of Forney is not impacted.
NTMWD personnel are currently working to repair the broken pipeline. We do not know exactly how long it will take to fix the pipe, however a repair on a typical pipe of this size can be done in less than a day.
All businesses and residents in Crandall and Gastonia-Scurry SUD are asked to limit water use to drinking and other essential use only, and eliminating all non-essential water use, including irrigation and other outdoor uses.
Updates will be posted on the city of Crandall, Kaufman County, Gastonia-Scurry SUD and NTMWD websites and social media.
