Outside of his county role, Allen is active on the Advisory Council on Immigration and Governmental Affairs and The Rural Action Caucus through the National Association of Counties. Locally, he participates in the Lions Club, serves as a board member for the Kaufman County Texas A&M Club, and is an Elder at the Landmark Church of Christ.
