FORNEY, Texas — The North Forney High School Falcons improve to 3-0 on the season with their 49-37 win over Fort Worth Brewer on Friday, October 9, 2020.
And, according to statistics compiled by the Dallas Morning News, North Forney's Ty Collins is the leading Class 5A rusher in the Dallas-Fort Worth area with 548 yards on 87 carries, 6.3 yards average per attempt, and five touchdowns.
On Friday night, Collins accounted for more than half of the teams 509 total offensive yards against Fort Worth Brewer with 248 rushing and another 16 receiving.
North Forney took an early lead that would prove too much to overcome by Fort Worth Brewer despite 27 fourth quarter points. In the first quarter North Forney led 14-7, improved to 35-10 in the second, and 42-10 in the third.
In the fourth quarter, Fort Worth Brewer rallied for 27 points to North Forney's 7 but, ultimately came up short, falling 49-37.
North Forney's Jacob Acuna threw for 144 yards and two touchdowns — received by Collyn Shipley and Kam Allen. Shipley would close the game with 94 yards receiving, Allen with 10, Tyler Tucker with 21, Ty Collins with 16, and Lemarcus Kirk with 8.
Collins led the rushing with his 248 yards and four touchdowns, Ezra Samuels and Jacob Acuna added to the Falcons dominating ground performance with 90 and 32 yards, respectively.
Collins' rushing performance isn't the only stat the team bolsters on the Dallas Morning News' Class 5A Team Rankings. The Falcons are 5th offensively with 1259 total yards on the season, or 419.67 yards per game. In rushing, the Falcons are 5th with 697 total rushing yards, or 232.33 yards per game. And, in scoring, the Falcons are 6th with 113 points scored this season, or 37.67 points per game.
