KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — The National Weather Service has confirmed two tornadoes in Kaufman County on Sunday after conducting field surveys on Tuesday.

Those surveys indicated an EF-0 tornado with winds around 85 miles per hour briefly traveled along Rosewood Drive in the Post Oak Bend area of Kaufman County, just south of Terrell, Kaufman County Office of Emergency Management Coordinator Steve Howie told inForney.com.

Additionally, an EF-1 tornado, with winds around 105 miles per hour briefly touched down in the Elmo area off of County Road 314, just north of Interstate 20.

Howie says the tornadoes destroyed a home at each location and several barns in Elmo.

The Rosewood Drive tornado caused a roof to collapse and pin the door shut — entrapping the residents.

No injuries were reported in either incident.

Sunday night's storms also caused power outages to nearly 3,000 Kaufman County residents among three different service providers.
