KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — Nearly 2,500 Trinity Valley Electric Cooperative (TVEC) customers in Kaufman County are among widespread power outages across East Texas. In total, 28,994 TVEC customers are currently experiencing power outages and instances of low voltage or flickering, according to TVEC.

"The repeated power anomalies/blinks are affecting a large part of east Texas, and appear to come from the transmission grid serving the region," stated a release from TVEC around 5:30 p.m. "We do not yet have any information regarding the exact cause or expected time for resolution."
"Please make provisions for persons who may be sensitive to heat or need continuous electricity for medical devices," stated TVEC.
An estimated restoration time is unknown.
