A/C bandit caught red handed by Forney Police Department

On Friday June 6, 2012 at around 5:00 am, Forney Police Officers responded to a local business when alerted electronically that property was possibly being unlawfully removed. The Forney Police Department has invested in GPS tracking systems to assist in the capture of persons committing burglaries within the city.

On Friday June 6, 2012 at around 5:00 am, Forney Police Officers responded to a local business when alerted electronically that property was possibly being unlawfully removed. The Forney Police Department has invested in GPS tracking systems to assist in the capture of persons committing burglaries within the city.

Upon arrival to the scene, Officers found a vehicle with a dolly/hand truck sitting behind it. On it was loaded an air conditioning unit that had the wires cut. A second AC unit was still in place next to the building but the lines had already been cut. The suspect found at the truck, Charles Joshua Turner of Heath, Texas was detained until Forney Criminal Investigators arrived.

Turner was taken into custody and transported to the Forney Jail for booking. He is charged with a State Jail Felony for Theft of Property and a bond was set for $10,000.00. Seizure paperwork has been filed with the Kaufman County District Attorney’s office for Turner’s vehicle.
