FORNEY, Texas – The Forney Police Department arrested 42-year-old Carlos Remmy and 50-year-old Everette Wallace, both of Dallas, Texas, for theft of more than 15 cases of beer, meat, and other groceries from Walmart.

The pair loaded their shopping cart on Monday afternoon and headed for the door – making their way through security unnoticed. An alert customer outside the store noticed the two men running with the cart and loading the beer and groceries into a green Ford Escape. That customer was able to take a picture with their cell phone, called 911, and provided a description of the vehicle to police.

Forney police caught up to the suspect vehicle in the 100-300 block of westbound U.S. Highway 80 and initiated a traffic stop. Authorities confirmed the thefts on video surveillance at the store and the pair was arrested without incident.

A female occupant of the vehicle was released by police and the vehicle was impounded.

Wallace was charged with theft of property $500 to $1,500, a class A misdemeanor. Remmy was charged with theft of property under $1,500 with two prior convictions, a state jail felony. After being arraigned, Wallace's bond was set at $12,000 and Remmy's bond was set at $30,000.
