KAUFMAN, Texas — The Kaufman Police Department is asking area residents to monitor their bank accounts for unusual activity after the discovery of two gas pump skimmers at a local gas station.

KAUFMAN, Texas — The Kaufman Police Department is asking area residents to monitor their bank accounts for unusual activity after the discovery of two gas pump skimmers at a local gas station.

The skimmers, which have since been removed, were located at Triple AAA Food Mart located at 1502 South Washington Street.

"If you have pumped gas at Triple AAA Food Store in Kaufman in the last couple of weeks, check your bank account immediately," stated the department on Thursday morning.

A Kaufman County law enforcement personnel is among the victims, according to police.

If you have pumped gas at the location, police are suggesting you call your bank or credit card company to alert them to monitor your account or dispute any fraudulent charges. Additionally, contact the three credit reporting agencies Equifax at 1-800-685-1111, Experian at 1-888-EXPERIAN (397-3742), and TransUnion at 1-800-916-8800.
