FORNEY, Texas — A Brown Middle School student was arrested and charged with terroristic threat in connection with a threat posted on social media last night, the Kaufman County Sheriff's Office confirms.

The charges against the juvenile student stem from a social media post on Snapchat last night.

Around 6 a.m., today, Brown Middle School administrators were made aware of the threat and contacted Kaufman County Sheriff's Office school resource officers and district administrators, according to a letter to parents from Brown Middle School Principal Pam Luttrull.

"The Kaufman County Sheriff’s department determined the post was a result of students playing a video game and “ribbing” each other," stated Luttrull.

Out of an abundance of caution, there was additional personnel on campus today, stated Luttrull.
