CRANDALL, Texas — A man is facing multiple charges in connection with a multi-agency child sexual assault investigation.

In August 2017, 37-year-old Alan Whitefield was arrested by the Crandall Police Department for aggravated sexual assault of a child. The victim was a 12-year-old female, Crandall Police Department Chief Dean Winters told inForney.com.

"During the investigation, that also involved the Amarillo Police Department, Idalou Police Department, and Kaufman County District Attorney’s office, it was found that the abuse had been ongoing for a period of time with more than one sexual assault," he said.

Whitefield was out on bond when he was located at a Terrell residence on Feb. 28, 2018, and arrested on a warrant for continuous sexual abuse of a child under 14 years of age.

On the latest charge, Whitefield is being held on a $200,000 bond.

Earlier today, the Kaufman County Sheriff's Office also filed a charge for aggravated sexual assault. Details on that case and bond information were not available at the time of press.

This is a developing story.
