CRANDALL, Texas — The Crandall Police Department is investigating a bomb threat at Barbara Walker Elementary School that prompted a building confinement earlier today.
At approximately noon, on February 21, 2019, the Crandall Police Department was dispatched to Barbara Walker Elementary School in reference to a 911 call of a possible bomb threat at the campus.
"Using information obtained from the recorded 911 call, that discredited a threat to the campus, the direction for Building Confinement of the campus was given to Crandall ISD staff instead of evacuation," stated a press release from the Crandall Police Department.
As a precaution, and with assistance from the Kaufman County Sheriff's Office, police searched each room of the campus and gave an all-clear at approximately 1:30 p.m.
Police are continuing to investigating the origin of the bomb threat.
The Crandall Fire Department also responded to the scene.
