CRANDALL, Texas — The Crandall Police Department says several stolen vehicles may possibly be linked to vehicles listed on Facebook for sale and is recommending people pull their listings or take extra precautions while an investigation is underway.
According to a release from the department yesterday, there were several reports of stolen vehicles in Heartland over the weekend. Of those, two have been recovered — one in Heartland and one in Pleasant Grove.
"Initial investigations appear to show a possible link between vehicles listed for sale on Facebook and vehicles reported stolen," stated the department. "It is highly recommended that you either remove vehicles you currently have listed for sale on Facebook or at a minimum do not bring possible buyers to your residence."
The department says the vehicle's makes and models have been random leading to the department's suspicion the vehicles are targeted.
Anyone with surveillance cameras is asked to check between Sunday and Monday from approximately 2 a.m. until 5 a.m. and report anything suspicious.
