CRANDALL, Texas β€” A Crandall Police Department traffic stop resulted in the arrest of a 21-year-old Dallas, Texas, man who is now facing drug and weapon charges.

CRANDALL, Texas β€” A Crandall Police Department traffic stop resulted in the arrest of a 21-year-old Dallas, Texas, man who is now facing drug and weapon charges.

According to Crandall Police Department Chief Dean Winters, on Thursday, February 9, 2017, officers stopped a vehicle in the 1200 block of the north service road of U.S. Highway 175 in Crandall.

Police seized a loaded handgun, a shotgun, 48 grams of methamphetamine, and a quantity of marijuana less than two ounces.

Arrested was 21-year-old Pedro Valadez of Dallas, Texas, who was charged with possession of a controlled substance greater than or equal to four grams and less than 200 grams, possession of marijuana less than two ounces, and unlawfully carrying of a weapon.

Valadez was booked into the Kaufman County Jail where he later posted bonds totaling $30,000 and was released on February 11, 2017.

β€œThe Crandall Police Department will continue to use all available resources to ensure the safety and security of the citizens of the City of Crandall,” stated Winters.
