CRANDALL, Texas — A Crandall Police Department traffic stop resulted in the arrest of a 21-year-old Dallas, Texas, man who is now facing drug and weapon charges.
According to Crandall Police Department Chief Dean Winters, on Thursday, February 9, 2017, officers stopped a vehicle in the 1200 block of the north service road of U.S. Highway 175 in Crandall.
Police seized a loaded handgun, a shotgun, 48 grams of methamphetamine, and a quantity of marijuana less than two ounces.
Arrested was 21-year-old Pedro Valadez of Dallas, Texas, who was charged with possession of a controlled substance greater than or equal to four grams and less than 200 grams, possession of marijuana less than two ounces, and unlawfully carrying of a weapon.
Valadez was booked into the Kaufman County Jail where he later posted bonds totaling $30,000 and was released on February 11, 2017.
“The Crandall Police Department will continue to use all available resources to ensure the safety and security of the citizens of the City of Crandall,” stated Winters.
