FORNEY, Texas – The Dallas County Sheriff's Office (DSO) pursued a motorcycle into Kaufman County late Thursday night, August 14, 2014.
The pursuit began in Sunnyvale, Texas, at 11:06 p.m. and traveled eastbound on U.S. Highway 80 into Kaufman County – reaching speeds at 120 miles per hour. The suspect motorcycle exited the highway and traveled Farm-to-Market (FM) 460 to FM 740 towards the Travis Ranch neighborhood.
The Forney Police Department then joined the pursuit with DSO who pursued the motorcycle into the Travis Ranch neighborhood. The pursuing officers lost sight of the motorcycle in Travis Ranch at 11:15 p.m.
Three DSO squad cars stopped at a residence in the 2000 block of Hartley Drive and spoke with a male at the residence in the driveway. A Forney Police Department squad car also joined the DSO officers.
inForney.com spoke with the man questioned overnight. "It was extremely humiliating being questioned in my neighborhood by multiple officers," he said. A Travis Ranch resident told a DSO unit they believed the man owned a motorcycle. When he pulled into his driveway driving his car, a DSO unit stopped to question him.
"Why was I stopped and questioned after pulling into my driveway in my car? I wish I knew," he said. The man stated he owned a motorcycle but sold it several months ago. "There are a lot of people in Travis Ranch who own motorcycles, I hear them all the time."
Just before midnight, all DSO and Forney police units cleared from the residence. Having lost sight of the motorcycle during the pursuit, no arrest was made.
