COMBINE, Texas -- The discovery of a body of Farm-to-Market (FM) 1389 in Combine, Texas, on Monday has prompted a murder investigation, according to the Kaufman County Sheriff's Office.
The body, identified as 35-year-old Anita Abreu of Dallas, Texas, was discovered around noon in the 400 block of FM 1389, wrapped in plastic and concealed, according to Kaufman County Sheriff's Office Public Information Officer Jolie Stewart.
Stewart says investigators believe the body was there less than 36 hours before its discovery on Monday.
The body was sent to the Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office which listed the death as a homicide. The manner of death has not been released at this time.
Stewart says the Texas Rangers are assisting in the investigation.
