FORNEY, Texas — An east Texas man is being held on over $500,000 in bonds at the Kaufman County Jail following his arrest in Forney on Sunday.
At approximately 8:40 a.m., on Sunday, February 21, 2016, according to an incident report obtained by inForney.com, 51-year-old Anthony Michael Morris of Hawkins, Texas, and 36-year-old Cheyanna Kirkpatrick of Marshall, Texas, were arrested following a traffic stop on the service road of U.S. Highway 80.
Morris was charged with possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 greater than or equal to four grams and less than 200 grams. Morris is being held at the Kaufman County jail with a $500,000 bond for the drug charge and is also being held on five warrants out of Rockwall, Plano, and Dallas.
Police seized 7.2 grams of methamphetamine during the arrest, according to the report.
According to court records, Morris’ criminal history includes convictions for assault causes bodily injury out of Seagoville in 1999, assault causes bodily injury to a family member out of Dallas in 2004, unlawful carrying of a weapon out of Mesquite in 2006, burglary of a building out of Dallas in 2008, and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon out of Dallas in 2009.
Kirkpatrick was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, a $361 fine, and released the same day.
