Family offers $10,000 reward in fatal hit-and-run on FM 548

ROCKWALL COUNTY, Texas β€” UPDATE [August 13, 2018] β€” The family of a man who was struck and killed on Farm-to-Market (FM) 548 last month is now offering a $10,000 reward for information in the case, according to Rockwall County Sheriff's Office.

This reward is in addition to a reward up to $1,000 being offered by the Rockwall County Crime Stoppers, stated the department.

ORIGINAL [July 20, 2018] β€” Authorities in Rockwall County are seeking a vehicle involved in a fatal hit-and-run crash on Farm-to-Market (FM) 548, not far north from the Kaufman-Rockwall County line.

Around 1:37 a.m., on Friday, July 27, 2018, the Rockwall County Sheriff's Office responded to FM 548 just north of North Munson Road, approximately nine miles north of the Kaufman County line, where a motorist observed the body of a man in the roadway, according to the Rockwall County Sheriff's Office.

The deceased man was identified by police as 27-year-old Eloy Gerardo Aguilar Padillo of Royse City, Texas.

Investigators believe Padillo was struck by a vehicle β€” possibly a 2009-2013 Toyota Corolla. The vehicle will likely have front-end damage to the right passenger side, according to the sheriff's department.
