TERRELL, Texas — Five people are facing drug charges following a traffic stop in Terrell last week.

TERRELL, Texas — Five people are facing drug charges following a traffic stop in Terrell last week.

According to Terrell Police Department Captain A.D. Sansom, Terrell police officers stopped a known wanted person for invalid vehicle registration.

A consent to search resulted in the discovery of 7.1 grams of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and over $4,000 in cash — all of which was seized.

The wanted person was identified as 26-year-old Jonathan Lee Joiner who was wanted for failure to appear, no drivers license, and possession of a controlled substance in penalty group 1 less than one gram.

Also arrested were 22-year-old Samantha Lynn Walls, 31-year-old Kristy Rea Romero, 32-year-old Barbara Jean Moore, and 27-year-old Celina Renane Gutierrez.

Each faces a charge of possession of a controlled substance in penalty group 1 greater than or equal to four grams and less than 200 grams and are being held on $100,000 bonds.
