Updated Feb. 17, 7:18 p.m. Two individuals were shot late Saturday night, February 16, in an overflow parking lot of Rockwall's Cinemark theater. The shooting happened at approximately 7:53 p.m. and Rockwall police have identified the suspect as former Hunt County Constable Anthony Dewayne Lewis, 47.

According to a statement from the Rockwall Police, "Responding officers found two victims, a male and a female, who had been shot multiple times. Both victims were transported to area hospitals but the female victim succumbed to her injuries." The female victim was also identified as Lewis' ex-girlfriend, 33-year-old Jessica Aguilar. The male victim is Francisco Delacruz, 40, who is at Baylor Hospital in stable condition.

Authorities quickly identified Lewis' vehicle as a Black Mini Cooper and began a high speed chase in Garland at approximately 8:22 p.m. Lewis then led local authorities and a DPS helicopter through Garland, Rowlett, Rockwall, Royse City, Fate, and ended just west of Greenville. The chase reached speeds of up to 130 miles per hour on Interstate Highway 30 and the President George Bush Turnpike.

The chase ended after the suspect's vehicle hit spike strips and rammed a Texas Department of Public Safety vehicle in Greenville just west of Monty Stratton Parkway. "The suspect then exited his vehicle, pointed a handgun at the officers and was shot by officers on the scene," according to the Rockwall Police statement.

The suspect was transported to Presbytarian Hospital in Greenville, Texas, and later flown to Parkland Hospital in Dallas. Lewis was in surgery for most of the day and listed in critical condition Sunday morning. According to authorities, none of the officers were injured.

Local authorities said that Lewis may have used a 9mm handgun and discharged approximately 7 rounds at the scene of the original shooting in Rockwall, Texas. Rockwall Police are still investigating the shooting in Rockwall and the Texas Rangers are investigating the shooting in Greenville.

Anthony Lewis was a 25 year law enforcement veteran with special tactical training. In 1996, Lewis served two consecutive terms as Constable for Hunt County's Precinct 2.
