FORNEY, Texas — A Forney man was arrested for allegedly shooting and killing a dog from his deer stand in Henderson County on Saturday.
37-year-old Russell Scott Trousdale of Forney, Texas, was arrested on Saturday and charged with cruelty to non-livestock animals, according to Henderson County records. He posted a $5,000 bond and was released Sunday.
The Henderson County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call from a man that his dog had been shot. There, it was reported Trousdale had shot the dog, described as a pit-bull mix, from his deer stand, Henderson County Sheriff Botie Hillhouse told KLTV. The dog died as a result of the shooting.
