FORNEY, Texas — The Forney Police Department arrested a man earlier today for allegedly threatening to "shoot up" a local convenience store.
Around 12:52 p.m., on Wednesday, November 27, 2019, the Forney Police Department received a report of a threat offense in the 100 block of East U.S. Highway 80.
There, a witness told police a known male subject had threatened to go to a local convenience store, "shoot the place up," and reported the man had posted pictures to social media earlier in the day with weapons.
"While officers were investigating, the subject arrived to the convenience store, drove behind the store, and then began driving away," read a statement from the Forney Police Department. "Officers conducted a high-risk traffic stop and detained the subject without incident."
27-year-old Brett Eldred of Forney, Texas, was arrested and charged with terroristic threat against a family member, a class-A misdemeanor, and driving while license invalid without insurance or financial responsibility, a class-B misdemeanor.
A booking photo and bond information was not available at the time of press.
