FORNEY, Texas — The death of a Forney man on November 28, 2015, has been ruled homicide, the Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office confirmed on Monday just before noon.
Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Captain Fred Klingelberger says deputies responded to a home in the 3200 block of Clear Springs Drive in the Windmill Farms community on a welfare concern for a man possibly asleep at his front door at approximately 11 a.m.
UPDATE: Arrest made in Forney-area homicide investigation
When deputies arrived, they discovered the man was deceased and had suffered a gunshot wound to the back of his head.
The Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office, after a Sunday autopsy, ruled the death a homicide with the gunshot wound being the cause of death. The victim has been identified by police as George Moss of Forney.
Klingelberger said there were signs of forced entry into the home but are continuing to investigate whether it was burglarized or not.
Klingelberger said, although the investigation remains ongoing, there was "nothing here to indicate this wasn't isolated."
This is a developing story.
