FORNEY, Texas — A former Arkansas man was arrested earlier this month by the Forney Police Department on a bench warrant related to child pornography charges in Arkansas.

33-year-old Larry Douglas Matheny Jr, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, was booked into the Kaufman County Jail on Dec. 7, 2016, on a charge for possession with intent to distribute child pornography out of Garland County in Arkansas. Methany’s address at the time of his arrest was listed in the 1100 block of Gateway Boulevard in Forney, Texas.

On Monday, Dec. 19,2016, Matheny was extradited to Arkansas and booked into the Garland County Detention Center where he is being held on a $50,000 bond.

Matheny faces 28 counts of distributing, possession, or viewing of matter depicting sexually explicit conduct involving a child, felony charges each punishable by up to 10 years in prison, according to the Hot Springs Sentinel-Record.

The charges stem from the discovery of alleged pornographic images on a MicroSD card and a cell phone in 2012 — some of which included photos of the daughter of Matheny’s and his wife’s friends, the Sentinel-Record reported.

Court records indicate a bench warrant was issued for Matheny’s arrest on Nov. 28, 2016, and he is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 9, 2017.
