FORNEY, Texas — The Forney Police Department is investigating an approximate $1 million theft from the Goodyear Tire facility in Forney with nearly half of the stolen property already recovered.

FORNEY, Texas — The Forney Police Department is investigating an approximate $1 million theft from the Goodyear Tire facility in Forney with nearly half of the stolen property already recovered.

On January 15, 2024, the Forney Police Department responded to the Goodyear Tire facility on Akron Way after the reported theft of four fully-loaded semi-trailers.

These tires and trailers had a combined estimated value of $987,000, according to police.

"Forney detectives have recovered approximately 650 of the stolen 2000 tires in the last week," read a statement from the department. "Also, as of today, two of the four trailers have since been recovered, with one having approximately 250 tires inside. Almost half of all the stolen items have since been recovered through investigations by our Detectives."

The department says approximately 200 tires linked to the Forney theft were reported to the Dallas Police Department.
