FORNEY, Texas — The Forney Police Department is investigating a Wednesday morning vehicle theft and are asking possible witnesses to contact investigators.
Just after 9 a.m., the Forney Police Department was notified of a pickup truck stolen from a residence in the 700 block of Azalea Drive. The homeowner reportedly heard his truck start in his driveway, went outside, and confronted a man attempting to steal the truck.
Police say the man sustained minor injuries while confronting the alleged thief.
The stolen pickup truck was located less than a mile from the victim’s house parked at Soulman’s BBQ on Pinson Road. The truck’s engine was still running and it was unoccupied.
Detectives are asking anyone who may have seen an older white male wearing shorts and a white undershirt fleeing the area of Soulman’s BBQ to contact Forney Police Department Sgt. Prewitt at (972) 564-7607.
