Forney PD: ‘Lock, take, hide’ in light of overnight vehicle burglaries

FORNEY, Texas — The Forney Police Department is reminding residents to “Lock, Take, and Hide” valuables in your car in light of several overnight burglaries.

FORNEY, Texas — The Forney Police Department is reminding residents to “Lock, Take, and Hide” valuables in your car in light of several overnight burglaries.

The department says there were several burglaries overnight in the Heritage Hill neighborhood — three in the 900 block of Alpine Street, one in the 500 block of Bowie Street, and five in the 4-600 block of Carl C. Senter.

According to information obtained by police, all of the vehicles burglarized were left unlocked.

“Although most did not have property taken, the vehicles appeared to have been ransacked by person(s) looking for valuables,” stated the department. “Again, Locking your vehicle, Taking valuable inside, or Hiding them out of view can help deter becoming a victim of this kind of crime!”

The Kaufman County Sheriff's Office is also investigating recent burglaries in the Travis Ranch and Devonshire neighborhoods.

Anyone with information on these burglaries is encouraged to contact the Forney Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Department at (972) 564-7607.

Additionally, information can be submitted anonymously to the Kaufman County Crime Stoppers at (877) 847-7522. If the information leads to an arrest, a reward could be granted to the caller.
