FORNEY, Texas β€” The Forney Police Department arrested a Garland, Texas, man and seized nearly 60 grams of methamphetamines following a traffic stop last week, according to a police report.

FORNEY, Texas β€” The Forney Police Department arrested a Garland, Texas, man and seized nearly 60 grams of methamphetamines following a traffic stop last week, according to a police report.

On June 15, 2015, a Forney Police Department officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of Farm-to-Market (FM) 740 and Patriot Parkway. 29-year-old Jay Christopher Minyard of Garland, Texas, was arrested on an outstanding warrant.

Upon a consent search of the vehicle, police seized 59.5 grams of suspected methamphetamines in a clear plastic bag and .081 ounces of marijuana.

Minyard was held at the City of Forney Jail until his transfer to the Kaufman County Jail where he is being held without bond on a parole violation, a $100,000 bond for possession of a controlled substance in penalty group one greater than four grams and less than 200 grams, a $3,500 bond for a Dallas County hold, and a capias pro fine in Kaufman County for $844.50.

The vehicle was released to the registered owner who is from Terrell, Texas, according to the report.
