FORNEY, Texas — [UPDATE [Mar. 6] — The Forney Police Department is advising residents to Lock, Take, and Hide after a series of vehicle burglaries targeted unlocked vehicles.

Earlier today, the department released video of the alleged burglary suspects.

Anyone with information on the burglaries or who recognizes the individuals in the videos is asked to contact the Forney Police Criminal Investigations Department at (972) 564-7607.

"The Forney Police Department would like to encourage everyone to Lock your cars, Take your keys, and Hide your property!" stated the department.

Law enforcement agencies throughout the county have been experiencing vehicle burglaries involving unlocked vehicles, Forney Police Department Chief Robert Sherwin told inForney.com.

ORIGINAL [Mar. 2] — The Forney Police Department is investigating a series of vehicle burglaries which occurred Friday night.

After 9 p.m., the Forney Police Department took their first vehicle burglary report on the night in the 100 block of Robin Lane.

Officers have since taken several other reports in the nearby area including vehicle burglaries on Long Prairie Lane and Wolf Drive — all in the area of Ridge Crest Road.

As of 11 p.m., at least five vehicles were reportedly burglarized. Patrol officers remain in the area.

Information on the burglaries was not immediately available Friday night at the time of press. A request for additional information has been made with the Forney Police Department.
