Forney police continue to seek leads in fatal hit-and-run crash which claimed the life of UPS driver

FORNEY, Texas — The Forney Police Department is continuing to seek the public’s assistance with any information regarding a fatal hit-and-run crash last month.

FORNEY, Texas — The Forney Police Department is continuing to seek the public’s assistance with any information regarding a fatal hit-and-run crash last month.

Anonymous tips through the Kaufman County Crime Stoppers organization which lead to an arrest may be eligible for a reward, police say.

On May 27, 2017, at 12:04 a.m., the Forney Police Department resounded to the hit-and-run crash on westbound U.S. Highway 80 just prior to the Farm-to-Market (FM) 548 exit on multiple 911 calls about a man reportedly on the ground.

Upon officers arrival, officers located a deceased male outside of a UPS 18-wheeler which would parked on the shoulder of the highway. Police believe the victim, identified as 53-year-old Rogelio Flores of Abilene, Texas, was struck in one of the travel lanes.

Anyone who may have information is encouraged to contact the Forney Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division at (972) 564-7607. Additionally, tips can be submitted anonymously through the Kaufman County Crime Stoppers at 1(877) 847-7522. If the crime stopper’s tip leads to an arrest, a reward may be granted to the tipster.
