FORNEY, Texas — The Forney Police Department assisted the Farmers Branch Police Department in a police pursuit from their city which turned into a foot pursuit and search in Forney.
The pursuit began in Farmers Branch when the suspect failed to yield to police. The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office joined the pursuit as it traveled eastbound on U.S. Highway 80 just after 11 p.m. in the Sunnyvale area. As it entered Forney, the Forney Police Department was notified.
The suspect vehicle exited Farm-to-Market (FM) 460 and entered the NextEra Energy Resources power plant area which is located east of FM 460 and south of the service road.
One suspect was taken into custody after bailing on foot and a brief search of the area.
Police also searched the area with assistance from a Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) helicopter for any possible additional suspects.
The suspect was observed by EMS on scene after reportedly being tased.
