FORNEY, Texas — The Forney Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred Sunday evening.

In an update Sunday night, police say the alleged suspect has been apprehended.

At approximately 8 p.m., on Sunday, June 23, 2024, the Forney Police Department responded to the intersection of Vista Ridge Drive and Diamond Creek Boulevard on reports of a shooting.

Police say there were no injuries reported in the incident.

The Forney Police Department described the possible suspect as a Black male between the ages of 18 and 19 years old. He was seen wearing all black clothing and is allegedly armed with a handgun.

The Terrell Police Department's K-9 unit and a Forney Police Department drone unit responded to assist in the search for the suspect.

Police say the suspect fled the area on foot.
