On Friday, September 23, 2016, a technician was working on a gas pump which was previously marked “DO NOT USE” at the Settler’s Exxon gas station located at 431 Pinson Avenue when a credit card skimming device was discovered.
“It was removed and placed into Forney Police Evidence and the Secret Service has been made aware of the incident,” according to a statement from the Forney Police Department.
Investigators believe the skimmer may have been in place for possibly a month or more.
“It's unknown if anyone's information has been compromised, but if you may have used a card there recently, you are encouraged to be diligent in checking your accounts and statements for any unauthorized charges,” stated the department.
