A Kaufman County Grand Jury indicted Jason Michael Roberts of Forney for the September 4th, 2012, shooting of Victor James Botello. The Forney Police Department was called to the residence of Roberts at 525 Southlake Drive in Forney regarding a domestic disturbance and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
A Kaufman County Grand Jury indicted Jason Michael Roberts of Forney for the September 4th, 2012, shooting of Victor James Botello. The Forney Police Department was called to the residence of Roberts at 525 Southlake Drive in Forney regarding a domestic disturbance and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
When officers arrived, they saw that Botello had been shot in the abdomen by Roberts. The individuals were believed to have struggled with the firearm before it discharged. Roberts was arrested on September 6, 2012, by Forney Police Department and booked into Kaufman County jail with a bond set at $100,000. He was released the same day.
The Kaufman County Grand Jury indicted Roberts on September 25, 2012, for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon (Section 22.02(a)(2), Texas Penal Code) which is a second-degree felony. Mark E. Hasse is the lead attorney in the case representing the State of Texas. Hasse is also the Chief Prosecutor for the Kaufman County District Attorney’s Office in the 422nd District Court.
