Forney woman arrested after brief police pursuit on Thursday


FORNEY, Texas — A Forney woman was arrested following a brief police pursuit on Thursday in Forney.

Police say the woman passed a Forney Police Department officer at a high rate of speed in the area of Farm-to-Market (FM) 548 and the Forney Community Park.

The police officer turned around and attempted to catch up to the woman who was driving a BMW 335i. The officer initiated the pursuit on FM 741.

The woman stopped in the Forney Independent School District Administration parking lot in the 600 block of South Bois D’Arc Street and was taken into custody without further incident, according to police.

The woman, later identified 21-year-old Alyssa Brianne Frederick, was charged with evading arrest or detention in a vehicle and is being held at the Kaufman County Jail on a $10,000 bond.
