TERRELL, Texas — A Garland, Texas, man is facing several drug charges and is being held on bonds totaling $182,500 after a traffic stop in Terrell.
Around 3 p.m., on January 11, 2018, Terrell Police Department Narcotics Investigators initiated a traffic stop on a silver Kia Rio in the 200 block of Bradshaw Street, according to Terrell Police Department Captain A.D. Sansom.
The driver, 43-year-old Gilbert Diamond Sterry of Garland, Texas, was arrested for driving with a suspended drivers license and no insurance, according to Sansom.
During a vehicle inventory, incident arrest, investigators discovered a bag containing methamphetamine, a digital scale, and additional drug paraphernalia in addition to 37 pills of 37 pills of Quetiapine Fumarate and numerous other pills packaged for sale.
Sterry was booked into the Kaufman County Jail on charges for no valid drivers license, manufacture of delivery of a controlled substance in penalty group 1 greater than or equal to four grams and less than 200 grams, manufacture of delivery of a controlled substance in penalty group 2 less than one gram, and possession of a dangerous drug. His bonds total $182,500.
