In the past week, several structures and dumpsters around Forney were vandalized with gang-style graffiti. The vandalism appears to be focused on the west side of Forney, north and south of US Highway 80.
The graffiti was first noticed on the north side of US HWY 80 by residents of the Mustang Creek Subdivision on Thursday, December 27, 2012. On Saturday morning, several business owners along Pinson Road and North McGraw Street reported the same instances of graffiti.
The vandal(s) “tagged” mailboxes, electrical boxes, and a housing development sign on Bowie Street. On the south side of US HWY 80, the side of the Pinson Road bridge was tagged along with a stop sign, roadway near Bookshire's and the Fellowship Baptist Church, a commercial sign on Pinson Road, and several other structures.
A concentrated amount of graffiti was found on the side of the new Tobacco Discount store and its dumpsters. There also appears to be some potentially unrelated tagging in the same location.
The graffiti spells out “dnero” and in most instances is a cursive “dn3ro” with the “o” being represented with a circled 5-point star. One particular tag states “live fast, die young” and “bang, bang.”
It is unclear at this time if the graffiti is gang related or if this is a single individual. If you have noticed any suspicious individual(s) call the Kaufman County Crime Stoppers at (877) 847-7522 or submit a tip online here.
