LOG CABIN, Texas — A Henderson County man was arrested early Wednesday morning and is now being charged with murder in his wife’s death, according to Henderson County Sheriff Botie Hillhouse.

Hillhouse says 28-year-old Daniel Joseph Scott, who lives in the Log Cabin, Texas, area, was arrested shortly after midnight by Investigator Ray Yockey at the East Texas Medical Center in Athens, Texas.

Scott’s wife, 29-year-old Alicia Scott, died from an apparent gunshot wound and was taken to the Southwest Institute for Science in Dallas, Texas, for an autopsy.

“This is an ongoing investigation, and we are gathering evidence at this time, and we will provide additional information as needed,” Hillhouse said.
